Effectively and efficiently performs HVAC system troubleshooting, maintenance and repair including control system maintenance, repair, and design services for Lewis & Clark College under the auspices of Facilities Services, within the financial resources available.
This position is a member of Teamsters Local Union No. 305.
What You'll Do
* Performs highly skilled HVAC maintenance and repair along with control design and maintenance including but not limited to the following specific areas:
* Designing, troubleshooting, adjusting, calibrating, and replacing HVAC controls systems
* Repairing electronic and pneumatic HVAC controls systems
* Analyzing and repairing analog and digital circuitry
* Programming DDC controllers and software to automate systems to decrease manual transferring during temperature and season changes.
* Creating and updating graphics for BMS software to improve systems oversight and functioning
* Generate reports and analyze trend data from BMS software
* LME work to support HVAC systems
* Conducts inspections, completes PMs and repairs on a variety of HVAC systems throughout campus. Where work cannot be completed internally, position inspects work performed by HVAC contractors and ensures that they meet work requirements.
* Keeps accurate records of material, labor and equipment costs on assigned tasks.
* Works day, swing, graveyard, or alternate shifts as required.
* Responds to on-campus emergency calls during and after hours.
* Operates all machinery in a safe and professional manner.
* As directed, makes cost estimates and prepares lists for jobs.
* Assists in ordering supplies as needed.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
* Associated Degree or higher in a technical field.
* Oregon LME License (Electrician, Limited Maintenance).
* Possess a current valid US driver's license and be approved to drive under the College's insurance policy.
* Requires meeting all applicable OSHA requirements per policy, procedures, and practicess.
* One year demonstrated experience in managing and maintaining a large, complex energy management system.
* One year experience in programming DDC controllers.
* Advanced knowledge in HVAC control systems.
* Skilled in software programming and modification.
* Ability to maintain large, complex energy management systems.
* Proficiency in word processing, and spreadsheet software.
* Essential knowledge in electrical system maintenance.
* Broad knowledge of digital, pneumatic, and analog electronics.
* Ability to perform the physical tasks required to carry out the job responsibilities.
* Ability to maintain a valid Oregon driver's license and meet College vehicle insurance requirements.
* Ability to perform duties in an expedient and professional manner
* Ability to reach and write in the English language.
* Ability to work well in a team environment.

Nice to Haves
* At least 2-years of experience working in HVAC systems after obtaining AA in Facilities Maintenance Technology or similar
* At least 2-years of experience working with LME license in the HVAC related field for support of mtc and repair of electrical systems associated with HVAC.
* Trending experience for improving preventative mtc program
* Completion of HVAC journey level program with EPA certification
* Formal training on programming and installation of DDC systems from Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, or similar

* Must be able to work in a stooped, kneeling, crouched or squatted position continuously.
* Must be able to work with arms extended overhead or in front and supporting the weight of eight pounds continuously.

* Must be able to effectively manipulate the tools and equipment used in engineering tasks.

* The word continuously means that the work may be carried out over consecutive seven and a half-hour shifts with one half-hour rest period mid-shift, a fifteen minute rest period two hours after the start of the shift, and a fifteen minute rest period two hours before the end of the shift. Working under the conditions described above, workers are expected to vary their positions frequently, pause, or stretch in order to avoid fatigue and injury.
