Do you have a passion for Oregon, an appreciation of the unpredictable and somewhat maverick nature of this place we call home?

Working for Travel Oregon is much more than a job, it’s a passion for the state, an appreciation of the sometimes unpredictable, always spectacular place we call home. It’s a quirky sense of humor, the pursuit of a life less ordinary, an eternal quest for the next farm-to-table meal, powdery slope, coastal sunrise or cultural experience. But, above all it’s working to optimize the impact of tourism on the state’s economy by providing visitors with authentic, high-quality Oregon experiences. Our team delivers unequaled tourism expertise to the entire state and tells Oregon’s story to the world while ensuring the preservation of Oregon’s way of life and its natural places.

Do you love supporting meetings, events and projects? Are you interested in working in Oregon’s thriving tourism industry? We are currently recruiting for a Regional Meetings & Events Coordinator to support two of our program areas which directly serve Oregon's tourism industry (our Regional Cooperative Tourism Program (RCTP) and our Industry Services programs). Duties include project coordination and administrative support tasks, as well as serving as a liaison with external stakeholders. Although this role is based in our downtown Portland office, typical workweeks are anticipated to include up to two days in our Salem office. Additional time is required in the Salem office during peak conference periods.

The successful candidate is self-motivated and highly organized. In addition, here’s what we expect you to bring to the table:
Required
--A minimum of three years of experience in a fast-paced business environment with experience coordinating projects and planning/executing meetings, events and trainings. Tell us why your background makes you a match!
--Skill in managing details with the ability to juggle multiple deliverables and meet deadlines.

--Experience and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and project management and collaboration tools such as Basecamp, Google Docs, Dropbox and others. Ability to quickly learn new programs and platforms.
--An unfettered love of Oregon, its people and its places.
--Experience supporting the production of multi-day (500+ attendees) conferences.
--Experience managing meeting/conference registration platforms such as Cvent, form and survey platforms such as Formsite, and CRM data records (ie, Salesforce).
