The Senior Legal Specialist provides highly skilled and advanced technical legal support to designated attorneys, following applicable court rules and procedures and County office standards; prepares files and legal documents; manages discovery and digital evidence; supports child support enforcement; and assists in criminal or civil trial preparation. Incumbents must demonstrate advanced level proficiency in the full scope of duties and are expected to independently perform legal support activities of a complex clerical nature.

Education and Experience:

District Attorney's Office - Criminal Prosecution:
High school diploma or equivalent; AND
Five (5) years of experience providing administrative or clerical support, three (3) years of which must be equal to the level of Legal Specialist II, in a public or private law office or in an office environment with a focus on legal issues; OR
Five (5) years of experience providing administrative or clerical support, two (2) years of which is in a prosecutor's office.
A Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in a related field or a Paralegal certificate may substitute for two (2) years of experience.

District Attorney's Office - Child Support:
High school diploma or equivalent; AND
Five (5) years of experience providing administrative or clerical support, three (3) years of which must be equal to the level of Legal Specialist II, in a public or private law office or in an office environment with a focus on legal issues; OR
Five (5) years of experience providing administrative or clerical support, two (2) years of which is in a state or county child support office.
A Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in a related field or a Paralegal certificate may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
