Pay
Salary Range: $54,354 – $71,526 annually.
Starting salary is $54,354 - $63,587 (depending on qualifications), plus full benefits package.

The Hillsboro Police Department has a critical role within the community to ensure residents, businesses, and other community partners experience a safe place to live, work, and visit! We’re seeking a Management Specialist who, under the direct supervision of the Chief of Police, will provide operational and administrative support to the Chief and Police Department’s Executive Team.

This position reports to the Chief of Police and coordinates the activities of the Police Department’s Executive Team.

Our Ideal Candidate will:
• Bring strong skills in planning, coordination and support of department publicity, events and associated event logistics;
• Be able to conduct research and provide support of Labor & Employment Relations as well as assisting the Executive Team and City Labor Attorney in formulating, determining and effectuating management policies in the area of collective bargaining;
The role of this position also includes assisting with public requests and confidential support of human resources on behalf of the police chief and executive team as we as providing administrative, procurement, project and financial support services.


General Statement of Duties
The principal function of an employee in this class is to provide specialized services in support of such functions as human resources, labor relations, emergency management program coordination, records management, elections, and programs and projects support and coordination. Incumbents, as assigned, may be responsible for performing records research and management; maintaining databases; providing technical assistance and training; and processing invoices and receipts for payment.

Acceptable Experience and Training
Associate’s degree and 2 years’ experience related to area of assignment; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Licensing/Certifications
• Possession of a valid State Driver’s License and safe driving record;
• Must be able to pass an extensive background check;
• Must be able to pass CJIS security background;
• Must be able to become LEDS certified within 90 days of hire.
