What you will be doing:
The Unemployment Insurance (UI) Benefits Section of the Employment Department provides payment services and control operations in support of all UI operations. Benefit Payment Control (BPC) consists of Investigations, Overpayments, UI Recovery, and the BPC Support team. BPC is directly responsible for maintaining the integrity of the UI trust fund through the prevention, earlier detection, and faster recovery of improper UI benefits and delinquent employer taxes. The Benefit Payment Control (BPC) Support Specialist provides office support to management and cross-functional staff positions that are assigned to BPC. This position works jointly with other office specialists (OS) within BPC. All OS work assignments are cross-functional between the various units within BPC and are rotated among OS staff on a periodic basis. In this role you will:
Assist revenue agent staff with processing and mailing important, time-sensitive documents to employers, banks, and claimants
Enter data into computer systems while verifying for accuracy
Process and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and faxed documents
Prepare and distribute correspondence to appropriate staff
Assist claims staff, during heavy workload periods, with processing incoming benefits earnings audits
Prepare, route, and retrieve documents within the imaging system
Process a large variety of documents by researching and assigning the appropriate routing codes to each document
Use computer and other office equipment to enter data, request, prepare, copy, scan, and/or fax documents and correspondence

Ease of navigation using a computer including the ability to learn how to use new computer programs, and ease of navigation when completing tasks such as toggling between different system windows, entering and retrieving information in databases, corresponding through email, typing, etc.
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to concentrate and work in a fast paced environment with frequent distractions
Commitment to valuing diversity and promoting inclusion
Required Minimum Qualifications: Qualified candidates will have completed courses or training in Office Technology; OR have one year of general clerical experience which included typing word processing or other generation of documents; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience
