The Director of Technology Services is a new and critical role in the District, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer and providing innovative strategies to support TVF&R's vision, mission and goals in this complex, dynamic organization.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
The District and the Technology Services Division are in an exciting time of change. The successful candidate will lead the District's Technology Services Division, by finalizing a revamped staffing structure and developing a Strategic Technology plan to include both short- and long-term goals.
The director of technology services can expect to step right into the process of transforming the District's technology approach from tactical to strategic. The new director will start with a
solid technical infrastructure, which includes a hybrid environment of virtual and physical devices featuring many cloud-based applications, including Office and SharePoint 365.
The clients are individuals who provide public safety services and administrative support in 30 facilities strategically located throughout our service area. TVF&R has a consistent funding model and an experienced, capable staff. This is a unique opportunity with immediate potential to move the organization forward to meet its objectives now and into the future.

A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, software engineering or related field.
Eight years of experience in one or more functional areas, including but not limited to: applications development, desktop support, network engineering, cybersecurity and systems administration, preferably in a medium- to large-size organization.
Three years in a management role that includes formal supervision of technical personnel and accountability for defined fiscal resources and program outcomes.
Experience in development of strategic plans and organization-wide policies aligned with organizational objectives; development and support of IT governance practices; program evaluation and improvement; and budget preparation.
Experience creating and maintaining a positive experience for customers, including metrics to measure client satisfaction and methods to increase employee effectiveness.
Prior experience with an IT governance structure is highly preferred.
Public sector experience is preferred
