The Portland Housing Bureau is seeking a Housing Senior Administrative Specialist. The Senior Administrative Specialist works independently and performs specialized administrative support functions for programs, with a significant degree of accountability for results. Duties include assisting program staff in the development of correspondence, front desk coverage, payroll and timekeeping; facilities coordination and support; providing staffing support to standing bureau committees; data collection, input and coordination; preparation meeting notices, agendas and minutes; and completing other special projects and assignments as needed. This position will maintain highly sensitive and confidential information, while exercising a high degree of tact, discretion, and diplomacy in sensitive situations. Preparing and maintaining accurate, concise, and confidential records is a responsibility of this position. This work includes frequent communication with vulnerable populations, diverse communities, program partners and program staff.

The Senior Administrative Specialist is expected to carry out individual responsibilities with initiative, independence and confidentiality, while exercising sound problem-solving skills and professional judgment.
