Position Overview:
The Site Supervisor is a year round position responsible for supervising and facilitating Camp Fire after-school activities for diverse student populations at elementary schools in grades K-5 during the school year. During summer months, the Site Supervisor is responsible for working at the main Camp Fire office to develop trainings, program materials, support hiring processes, and other administrative duties in collaboration with the BAS Leadership Team towards overall program improvement. The Site Supervisor is responsible for striving to achieve youth development outcomes by engaging program participants in academic enrichment and support, creative arts, active recreation, community building, service learning, and leadership activities as well as supporting the development of staff, systems and resources to achieve these outcomes.
Site Supervisors collaborate with their site teams on program planning, communication, behavior management, and general site operations; as well as across site teams to support the overall success of the Camp Fire’s Before & After School program. Site Supervisors directly supervise three-eight site staff. Site Supervisors collaborate as part of the BAS Leadership team and work closely with their Multi-Site Coordinator to address district and program wide initiatives. Site Supervisors are the main point of contact on site to build school and community partnerships, interact with the Office of Child Care licensing specialists, and manage daily program operations. They will also collaborate across departments at Camp Fire, including, but not limited to: Human Resources, Registration, Finance, the Office Manager, and the Communications team. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to building positive working relationships with participants, families, community partners, and school staff.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
During the school year, the Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all program operations at site as well as supervising the planning and teaching of curriculum in school settings for program participants.
Manages all administrative functions for the site and site staff including, but not limited to, timecards, registrations, financial reporting, and budgeting.
Maintains licensing standards and ensures program compliance in alignment with all OCC, state, federal, and district licensing and compliance regulations.
Maintain regular and reliable on-site attendance for scheduled morning and afternoon shifts while also completing tasks and attending scheduled meetings off site.
Other Job Duties:
Facilitates programming in an after-school setting while maintaining program expectations and behavior management.
Maintains on-going records as required by the Camp Fire office, state of Oregon Office of Child Care, and Portland Public Schools.
Allocates monthly budget, maintains financial reports, and manages supply shopping for site.
Work in collaboration with the site team, program team, registrar, and administration.
Submits weekly and monthly paperwork.
Works within school policies and confidentiality requirements.
Develops positive working relationships with program participants, families and school staff.
Acts as a role model positive youth development practices, youth-adult partnerships and mentoring.
Participates in recruitment and retention of program participants.
Participates in outreach to families and coordinate family engagement activities.
Works on in-service planning team to develop and deliver full day in-service and break programming and facilitates operations of full-day programs.
Attends Camp Fire meetings and events, including monthly site supervisor meetings and monthly check-ins with the Program Director.
Periodically attends collaborative meetings at Camp Fire, district, and state levels.
Administers youth outcomes evaluations and engages in Youth Program Quality Assessment process.
Assists the BAS Leadership Team with developing and delivering training for Site Instructors.
Provides clear direction and priorities to direct reports and support them in the development of work-plans achieving success.
In accordance with HR policies, conducts frequent informal performance assessment with direct reports, and formal performance assessment annually.
Ensures availability to key staff for both structured and more informal, as-needed support.
Ensures that high expectations and accountability are balanced by fun, compassion, and support.
Leads team-building activities to develop and sustain high staff satisfaction and morale.
Supports the mission, purpose and leadership of Camp Fire and projects a positive image of Camp Fire.
Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or Master’s degree (M.A) from four-year college or university; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Step 9 or above on the Oregon Step Registry and/or equivalent training/experience is required.
Working knowledge of youth development and programming, including best practices in academic enrichment, life and leadership skill development, youth adult partnerships, and mentoring.
Knowledge of OCC licensing policies and procedures for managing a licensed child care facility.
Previous experience instructing in an after-school program environment that involves solo teaching, outcome-based lesson planning and current best practices in youth development, and behavior management for program participants.
A valid insurable Driver’s License is required.
This position also requires a valid Oregon Food Handler’s card and First Aid & CPR certification and OCC Basic Safety Set Trainings, plus >15 hours of approved professional development per license year.

Job requires specialized computer skills. Must be adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, report writing, project management, graphics, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicate by e-mail and use scheduling software.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Compensation: $16-$17/hour
