Position Information
The Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership seeks a Principal Restoration Ecologist to identify, develop, and implement habitat restoration projects in the lower Columbia River. Specifically, the position works with land owners and other stakeholders to evaluate sites for restoration; collects and analyzes field data; identifies restoration alternatives; participates in engineering design; writes project proposals; secures funding and permits; develops project budgets and timelines; submits reports; oversees construction; and helps collect action effectiveness data. The position will focus on assisting with a complex competitive bid process in 2019 and providing oversight of construction and re-vegetation for a large floodplain re-connection project extending from 2019 through 2022. The Principal Restoration Ecologist position requires five years’ experience scoping, developing, and implementing on-the-ground habitat restoration projects, including construction oversight and reforestation. This position is based at the Estuary Partnership with work regularly taking place in a field setting that requires regular travel throughout the Estuary Partnership study area.
