This position works in Facilities Services, which manages more than 90 separate facilities and their operating systems totaling 2.1 million square feet, including City Hall, two libraries, fire stations, parking structures, historical houses, and shops complex buildings, to name a few.
This opportunity would allow you to work with computerized energy management and maintenance management systems; schedule preventive and corrective maintenance with staff; and/or prepare bid documents for procuring services for managing capital projects. Other assignments include reviewing schematic designs and purchasing contracts, interacting daily with vendors and City staff, and helping prepare project and budgetary needs for your section.
We are looking for an energetic individual with a good knowledge of mechanical and electrical trades, energy management and/or project management, with great verbal and written communication skills, able to coach and direct staff with different skill sets, and able to coordinate and manage multiple assignments at one time. Proficiency in operating personal computers or other office related electronics and software is required. A good understanding of schematic designs and plans, with proficiency in AutoCAD, or similar, is highly desirable.
Typical days of work are Monday through Friday. Typical hours of work are 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. Schedules may be subject to change depending on the operational needs. This position is FLSA exempt and occasional work more than 40 hours per week may be required.
What are the minimum qualifications?
Must pass the pre-employment background check and able to pass a criminal background check necessary to obtain CJIS/LEDS clearance/certification (and maintain throughout course of employment).
Must have an Oregon Driver license and have a driving record that meets the City of Salem's driving standards.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of experience in a related field, or any combination of education, experience, and training that demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities as listed, and ability to perform the essential job functions.
