Salem Public Library (Oregon) is Recruiting for a Librarian!

Salem Public Library is seeking an energetic and service-oriented individual who is interested in working in an enthusiastic and highly collaborative environment driven by innovation.
The successful candidate for this full-time career Librarian position will have excellent written, interpersonal and social media communication skills, readers' advisory skills, a proven track-record of exceptional customer service, and the ability to work with diverse user groups both internally and externally. This position reports to the Youth Services manager and serves all ages on public service desks, programming and community outreach.

Additional desired competencies include knowledge of adult and youth literature, public speaking skills, the ability to consistently manage multiple projects, experience with some web development, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Two years of professional librarian experience is preferred.

What are the minimum qualifications? •Must have an Oregon Driver license and a driving record that meets the City of Salem's driving standards.
•Master's degree from an ALA accredited library school program with an MLS or MLIS degree, or equivalent.
•Must pass the pre-employment background check.
•Must have the ability to work a varied schedule – including weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
