The Development Retention Associate position at Self Enhancement, Inc. (SEI) will work to retain existing donor relationship for the agency by improving intentional outreach to donors and providing summaries of impact on SEI’s programs & services. This position is a full-time position that reports and provides administrative support to the Development Director.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•Fundraise for SEI and maintain a donor portfolio of at least $225,000
•Responsible for cultivation and solicitation of donors giving $2,000 to $9,999
•Works with agency grant writer to identify & apply for foundations and grants giving $9,999 and below in unrestricted funds
•Creates and submits quarterly fundraising report to Development Director (Quarter 1: July to Sept / Quarter 2: Oct. to Dec. / Quarter 3: Jan to March / Quarter 4: April to June)
•Have laser-like focus on retaining donors and increasing donor outreach strategies
•Work with multiple departments including Youth Services and Community and Family Programs (CFP) to find and offer volunteer options that target donors’ interests and skills
•Work closely with the Development Director to understand donor trends and opportunities to increase retention of donors
•Help with prospect research, and provide administrative support
•Own retention tactics and work collaboratively across multiple teams
•Create a donor engagement matrix identify impactful touchpoints for each level of donor giving
•Use Raisers Edge (RE) database to adjust strategies for how to approach and sustain a donor relationship to maximize fundraising results
•Records Development Directors and their own actions into RE
•Accepts other appropriate duties/responsibilities as assigned by SEI management
•Bachelor’s Degree in Non Profit Management or a related field highly preferred.
•Proficiency with working in Raisers Edge or a similar database preferred
•Experience fundraising in-cash and in-kind support as well as cultivating and stewarding donors is required
•Process development and continuous program improvement experience highly desired.
•Experience in social services environments is preferred
•Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
•Ability to use personal initiative and cooperation in performing job duties.
•Must be comfortable with warm-calling individuals to strengthen support
•Must have effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with people of varying social, economic and education levels.
•Must have excellent problem solving skills and be a team player
•Ability to understand and follow complex written and oral instructions, rules and procedures; to work independently and to be a vital and contributing part of a team.
•Must have excellent organizational skills and be detail oriented.
•Must have excellent coordination skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines with varying timelines.
•Advanced computer skills to include the entire Microsoft Office Suite.
•Excellent writing skills to include proper grammar, report writing/formatting, proofreading and editing.
•Must have current and valid state driver’s license, in good standing with no insurability restrictions and must be insurable under SEI’s auto insurance policy.
