The Victim Assistance Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for developing, organizing and maintaining the volunteer and internship program for the Victim Assistance Division of the District Attorney's Office. Responsibilities include recruiting, training and supervising volunteers and interns who will assist with providing services to victims of crime and with office work within the division.

The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of the Victim Advocate role and be familiar with and understand the victims' constitutional rights, court processes and community resources available to victims to ensure they are effectively training volunteers and interns. Additional responsibilities include, engaging with civic organizations, businesses and universities and discussing the mission of the victim assistance unit; developing and distributing informational materials regarding the positions and goals of the program; developing and maintaining a comprehensive 40-hour training for volunteers and interns; tracking and logging work performed by the volunteers and interns for grant reporting purposes; and assisting Victim Advocates as needed.

Education and Experience:
Possession of or completion of college-level training equivalent to an Associate's Degree in communication, journalism, public relations, education, education in program related area, or related fields; AND
One (1) year of work experience in the development, coordination, and delivery of a public information and communication or community outreach program.
