This is a full time position (40 hours/week) located at Cascadia's outpatient Health Centers, with the primary location being our Clackamas Health Center in Milwaukie, OR. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm.

The Counselor III, Recovery Services with Intake Specialization, works primarily as the point of intake and access to treatment on a larger clinical team, while supporting a Trauma Informed Care environment. The secondary aspect of this position includes covering a caseload if needed for Recovery Services, and performing other clinical duties which may include: individual sessions, groups, case management and coordination of care. With the high prevalence of trauma among individuals receiving mental health services, it is required the Counselor III understand the effects of trauma on health, coping, and other aspects of the lives of those we serve.

The Counselor III is responsible for completing Behavioral Health Assessments, Individual Service and Support Plans and will make determinations on level of care best fit for the client's needs. These processes will be for all new clients entering Cascadia's mental health clinics. The Counselor III is responsible for providing excellent customer service and diagnostic skills as the first interaction clients have with Cascadia's outpatient services. Depending on capacity needs for the clinic and team, and as determined by the Clinical Director, the Counselor III may transition from an intake specialist to a Recovery Services team member, which may include carrying a caseload, doing group and individual therapy, conducting case management, consulting, and coordinating with external and internal providers. The transition period will depend on how many caseload points as well as any vacancies which may impact access.

- A Master's Degree in a behavioral science field from an accredited college or university. Demonstrate the competencies to become credentialed as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) as outlined in the Oregon Administrative Rules (OAR). Certification must be current and in compliance with the OAR's.
- The CADC credential is preferred in addition to a Master's Degree given the high occurrence of substance use/abuse.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Oregon is highly preferred.
- Clinical experience diagnosing and providing inpatient or outpatient services is a plus.
- Able to conduct a mental health assessment and formulate a diagnosis according to the most current DSM
- Understand recovery model, motivational interviewing, illness management and recovery
- Thorough knowledge of evidence-based practices, and strength-based case management philosophies and strategies
- Operate computer hardware and software (including EMR software) at a level needed to effectively perform job functions
- Enter and retrieve data
- Prepare reports
- The incumbent must have a valid driver's license, access to a personal vehicle, three year driving history; clean driving record, ability to pass Driver Motor Vehicle (DMV) check and complete the Cascadia online Defensive Driving course.
