The Senior Management Auditor is the full journey level in a three-level classification series. The Senior Management Auditor is distinguished from the Management Auditor in that incumbents perform more difficult and varied work on complex and sensitive audit engagements. Incumbents at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new or unusual situations arise and are fully aware of government audit standards and Auditor's Office policies and procedures.

The Senior Management Auditor plans, conducts, and leads complex and sensitive performance and other specialized audits. Incumbents will analyze and synthesize a broad array of complex quantitative and qualitative information to prepare recommendations on operational, budgetary, organizational, and other administrative matters. Incumbents must exercise effective analytical, written, and oral communication skills and be able to respond to multiple issues involving a broad range of subject matter.

Education and Experience:
A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Senior Management Auditor:
Possession of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with course work in auditing, public administration or policy, business administration, finance, or a related field that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; AND three (3) years of professional work experience in performance auditing, management, operations, and analysis; OR
Possession of an Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university with course work in auditing, public administration or policy, business administration, finance, or a related field; AND five (5) years of professional work experience in performance auditing; OR
Seven (7) years of professional work experience in performance auditing.

Management Auditor:
Possession of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with course work in auditing, public administration or policy, business administration, finance, or a related field; OR
Possession of an Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university with course work in auditing, public administration or policy, business administration, finance, or a related field; AND two (2) years of professional work experience in performance auditing; OR
Four (4) years of professional work experience in performance auditing.

If you have completed education in a foreign college or university and are using this education to meet the minimum qualifications, you must provide documentation that the foreign education is comparable to that received within the United States' accredited college or university system or your application will not be accepted.

Preferred Requirements:
Washington County may consider some or all of the following when identifying the most qualified candidates. Please clearly explain on your application how you meet any of the following preferred qualifications/transferable skills:
Candidates with graduate work/degree or advanced training;
Certified Internal Auditors, Certified Information Systems Auditors, certified or other relevant professional certifications;
Candidates with performance auditing experience.

Pay Range: $6,903.67 - $8,807.32 Monthly
