Are you an analytical thinker? Do you like to using data to drive business decisions? If so, this may be the opportunity to exercise your knowledge. As a Asset Intern you will learn to use a variety of tools and resources to help plan the long term maintenance of the Port's various assets.

Port Interns learn on the job under close supervision, receive feedback from Port staff and complete work products that align with the students learning objectives and contribute to the Port's mission.

To be considered for this intern position you must be a current student enrolled in a Portland-area school for the duration of employment (up to 12 months). Spring 2020 graduates will not be eligible for this internship unless documentation of continued educational classes (graduate school related to the field) can be provided at the time of application.

• Learning Projects:
o Assist with performing field evaluations and condition assessments of a wide variety of existing facilities, systems, and pavement areas.
o Research a variety of buildings, building systems, and underground utility assets using construction drawings, historical information, asset databases, Port staff, and GIS.
o Review construction drawings with the purpose of compiling quantity takeoffs.
o Assist in populating and maintaining various facility and asset related databases.

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and seeking a degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or construction engineering, geographic information systems (GIS) degree, or another related field is required.
• Valid Oregon or Washington State Driver License required to operate Port vehicles for travel to various site locations is required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD is preferred.

o Obtain and maintain security clearance for unescorted access to secured area of airport.
o Demonstrate commitment to valuing differences among individuals and passion for being inclusive.
