The City of Salem is recruiting for a Program Coordinator to manage and implement the daily operations of multiple programs within the Development Services Section of the Public Works Department. Key functions of this position include: •Generate and operate procedures related to regulatory review and permitting programs.
•Analyze applications for development and construction projects
•Create written findings and communicate with applicants regarding permit requirements
•Assist members of the public related to development-related permit applications
The Development Services Section is charged with processing development and construction permit applications for the Public Works Department. Application types include but are not limited to pre-application conferences, land use actions, building permits, franchise utility permits, and public infrastructure permits. Our section coordinates programs within the Public Works Department by collaborating with numerous subject matter experts and stakeholders throughout the community. The ideal candidate is able to collaborate with a wide variety of customers and stakeholders while also working independently to perform complex, technical analysis of development projects.

What are the minimum qualifications? •Must pass the pre-employment background check.
•Must have an Oregon driver's license and have a driving record that meets the City of Salem's driving standards.
•Bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of progressively responsible experience pertinent to area of assignment, or any combination of experience and training that demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities.
