Latino Network seeks a bilingual, mission-driven professional with demonstrated experience to help execute the agency’s Oregon Worker Relief Fund. A successful candidate has a strong background in benefit eligibility determination. This person should also possess demonstrated experience in program and database navigation, serving the community and should be able to successfully operate in a fast-paced environment.
The Community Assistance Navigator for the Oregon Worker Relief Fund will join the Advocacy and Leadership Department and report to the Director of Advocacy. This position is charged with navigating and assisting with implementing Latino Network’s Oregon Worker Relief Fund program. This role will process OWRF applications as effectively and efficiently as possible and also assist with application navigation trainings to approved staff and volunteers processing applications including working closely with statewide partners in order to execute the program in a coordinated manner. This role will work closely with Innovation Law Lab to adhere with program policy and state & federal laws and regulations. This position requires consistent contact with clients, regular communication with staff and volunteer navigators and collaboration with partner organizations, local & state government, and the community.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Coordinates and helps to implement Latino Network’s OWRF navigation program.
-Performs the day-to-day logistics of navigations, including assisting community members in need of assistance, -processing applications, developing workplans, reports, record keeping.
-Advise and provide technical assistance to the Oregon Worker Relief Fund coalition.
-Prepare and submit timely weekly reports to the direct supervisor.
-Promotes the programs through participation in meetings and conferences; and participate in relevant professional -development opportunities.
-Participates in mandatory all-staff team meetings and trainings.
-Provides necessary referrals to participants.
-Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
-Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
-Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, social work preferred and minimum of two years’ experience in program management and direct-service eligibility analysis; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
-Knowledge of systemic political, economic and social issues affecting Oregon Latinos and policy and decision-making processes at the local, state and national levels.
-Volunteer coordination experience.
-Bilingual ability required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English including public speaking.
-Knowledge of and experience in navigating resources, programs, social services and government agencies.
-Experience in designing and implementing programs for diverse Latino communities.
-Experience facilitating workshops and ability to facilitate clearly and fluently in both English and Spanish.
-Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead a team, and work as a collaborative team member.
-Employ critical thinking and confidence in decision-making.
-Proven ability to manage time and prioritize tasks to meet goals and deadlines effectively.
-Commitment to personal and professional development.
-Strong data management experience with high attention to detail.
-Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
-Regularly work both remotely, in the office and in the community as needed.
-Evening and weekend availability may be required, and with approval work hours are flexible to accommodate program implementation and long hours during peak periods.
-Successful completion of pre-employment screens, including but not limited to criminal background.
