The City of Portland's Bureau of Planning & Sustainability (BPS) is seeking a Public Waste Collection Program Manager (Coordinator III). The Program Manager will lead the implementation of the citywide expansion of the public trash can program and waste collections compliance and enforcement field staff work. The position will be responsible for overseeing public trash can program logistics (including the citywide expansion and ongoing maintenance) and managing contractors for the installation, maintenance and collection of public trash cans throughout the city with a budget in excess of $2 million annually. This position will manage the implementation of compliance and enforcement activities directed at BPS policies and programs supported by Portland City Code and BPS Administrative Rules. Field work will be undertaken by this position on a semi-regular basis. This position will supervise the work of two field staff that will carry out duties related to the public trash can program and waste collections compliance activities. The Program Manager will have direct daily contact with a variety of diverse community stakeholders, including residents, businesses, garbage and recycling companies, and other bureaus and agencies. This employee will work as part of the BPS Sustainability Engagement & Waste Collection team and report to the BPS Waste Collection Manager.
