About the Position
Lewis and Clark College is seeking a mental health counselor/staff psychologist to provide mental health counseling to students. Counseling duties include mental health assessment, treatment planning, consultation and referral. Counseling will include crisis intervention, situational, relational, mental health, academic and developmental counseling. The counselor will work as part of a multidisciplinary and collaborative team, managing a caseload of student clients and maintaining clinical documentation. The counselor will be on-call to provide after-hours emergency consultation for about two weeks each semester.

What You'll Do
Mental Health Counseling
Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Social Work, or in a closely related field
2 years experience providing clinical services in mental health settings
1 year experience counseling adolescents or young adults
Applicants need to be licensed in the state of Oregon as counselors, psychologists, marriage & family therapists, or social workers, or be able to obtain such license by the employment start date
Ability to work effectively with diverse students (e.g., of varying ethnicities, race, religion, gender identity, nationality, sexual orientation, ability, etc.)
Strong clinical, communication, and collaboration skills
Nice to Haves
Experience providing clinical services in a college mental health setting
Stand, sit, walk, repetitive hand movements, seeing, talking, hearing
The immediate appointment to this position will be for a term through July 31, 2020. At that time, the College intends to conduct a search for a longer-term appointment. However, if notice of termination is not provided at the time, the appointment will continue on the same terms until such notice is provided.
22.5 hours per week through mid-May 2020; 15 hours per week from late May through the end of July 2020.
Start date: As soon as possible
$2,800 - $3,100 per month through mid-May 2020, with summer compensation of between $4,800 - $5,100 total
