Procurement Project Specialist - Contractor

This individual will work under the supervision of the Manager Development Procurement to provide CBDC staff level purchasing, research and support services. The specialist in this position will focus on part ordering and expediting to support development processes and activities.
Follow-up activities on purchase orders, including expediting.
Generate and issue manual purchase orders.
Material planning functions relating to prototype builds.
Support engineering prototype sourcing and procurement requirements.
Provide purchasing support for software leasing and maintenance contracts.
Three years minimum experience in business procurement, industrial experience preferred.
Valid Driver’s License.
General understanding of engineering drawings.
Knowledge of standard and non-standard fasteners, fittings, springs, tubes, metal, composites, and general hardware.
Familiar with purchase orders and SAP / SRM data entry processes.
Familiar with MRP / ERP systems.
Skill in negotiating and communicating with suppliers and internal customers e.g., engineers, mechanics and technicians.
Ability to keep multiple projects moving simultaneously.
Proficient user of Microsoft Office products.
Strong oral and written communication skills required.
Ability to lift 25 pounds.
