Youth Progress is seeking a proactive, collaborative, and organized Medication Assistant to join our team. The person in this position will be committed to providing high quality services and is responsible for overseeing the administration of medications to young people in all of our agency locations and the foster homes. Communication and organization are prime aspects of this position. The Medication Assistant, under the supervision of the Medication Manager will work closely with Program Assistants to ensure our agency is in compliance with Oregon Administrative Rules and agency policies with regards to storage, transportation, and administration of medications.

I) Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Intake medications upon arrival of new young people into programs

Leadership & Management:
Assist in the training of high-performing team of Program Assistants, empowering them to operate with programmatic and operational excellence as it pertains to medication management and administration
Assist in the training of high-performing team of foster parents, empowering them to operate with programmatic and operational excellence as it pertains to medication management and administration
Conduct daily MAR review process for each program, and conduct corrective actions when necessary
Communicate with pharmacy, state officials, and case workers to ensure compliance

Documentation & Evaluation:
Create Medication Administration Records (MAR's), monitor medication supply, order new medications
Conduct system analysis and process improvement on medication program

Other Duties:
Support other program functions as assigned

Ability to handle a variety of constituencies, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a complex environment with multiple priorities

Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or social sciences or 2+ years experience in direct services working with system involved young people
Current driver's license

Master's degree in social work or related field preferred

III) Position & Environment Details

Part-Time: Yes, Hourly
On-call: Yes
Hours: 25 hours per week, M-F
Co-workers: Medical Manager work closely with a team of Medical Manager, Program Assistants, Foster Parents, and Program Managers. As an agency, we're creative, open-minded, and dedicated to providing the highest quality of programs to our young people. We're often busy, but never too busy to help brainstorm a complicated problem or share a word of support.
Day to day: No two days are exactly alike and there is a great opportunity to build upon our current systems and processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the role. This position is housed at our admin facility, and includes occasional light travel around our region.
