The City of Hillsboro is seeking a professional, collaborative, proactive, forward thinking Senior Maintenance & Operations Technician with excellent customer service skills to perform maintenance of the City’s traffic signs and markings infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills as well as have experience and knowledge of maintaining and repairing traffic signs and markings. This position will serve as a lead worker over assigned personnel.

General Statement of Duties
The principal function of an employee in this class is to perform lead-worker level maintenance and/or operational activities in assigned area of responsibility. Duties as assigned may include providing customer service; performing routine maintenance and repair of equipment, infrastructure, and/or related items; operating motorized vehicles and equipment; inputting data into computerized systems; and preparing logs and records. As assigned, incumbents shall exercise lead worker duties over assigned departmental personnel.

Acceptable Experience and Training
High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of related work experience including lead worker responsibilities; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

• Class A Commercial Driver’s License with applicable endorsements;
• IMSA Signs and Pavement Marking Certification – Level I, within one year of hire.
