Reed College is seeking a Medical Services Manager to oversee the medical operations of our Health & Counseling Center (HCC). The HCC is an integrated center with a strong collaborative and multi-disciplinary clinical staff that includes: Nurses, Family/Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, Staff Counselors, Social Work/Case Manager, Licensed Psychologists, and Medical Doctors. The HCC strives to evaluate, maintain, and promote the general health of Reed students so that they may pursue their academic interests with clarity, confidence, and joy. All providers, both of physical and mental health care, work with an integrated approach to coordinate efforts for holistic care of the student. The center is heavily utilized and is a lively and energetic place to work.

This position is responsible for assessing and optimizing the quality of medical services in keeping with the overall mission and goals of the HCC including developing HCC policies and procedures, emergency response and outbreak planning and implementation of up-to-date medical guidelines and standards of practice. The Manager implements successful recruitment, retention and onboarding strategies to ensure a highly qualified and diverse staff.
This is a full-time, exempt position working Monday through Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm. The salary for this position is $92,000. Reed College offers an exceptional benefits package.
What You Bring
Knowledge of communicable disease issues and general medical knowledge that can be applied to this role.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse college community including students, parents, and staff members.
Strong conflict resolution skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of trends and current best practices in college student healthcare.
Flexibility to help the team with interdisciplinary tasks.
Demonstrated experience working and leading a team in a medical setting.
Self-awareness, in terms of understanding your own culture, identity, biases, prejudices, power, privilege, and stereotypes.
Solid technical and computer skills.
Current unencumbered Oregon license as a Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist and seven years post-licensure in direct patient care, with progressive leadership responsibilities including three years of management and supervisory experience. Master's degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration or related. Current Adult CPR certification or the ability to obtain within the first three months. Experience in primary care with adolescent and young adult patients is desired. Experience working with an electronic health record (EHR) system.
