The District Attorney's Office is seeking a Restitution Specialist to collect, organize, summarize, and disseminate restitution requests on all prosecuted criminal cases. This role requires specialized knowledge in obtaining and comprehending medical, banking, and insurance records, reports, forms, and ledgers related to the documentation of losses suffered by victims of crime. Additionally, critical thinking is required to both successfully locate the relevant documentation, as well as to efficiently organize the information into a final product that is easy to comprehend.
This incumbent will work closely with the Deputy District Attorney as well as the Victim Advocate assigned to each case. The individual in this position may be required to appear in court infrequently to support the restitution documents and conclusions submitted. This role is very dynamic, fast paced, and creative, yet it offers the unique opportunity to utilize technical accounting skills and provide a service to the community by assisting victims of crime.
Education and Experience:
-Possession of an Associate's Degree in accounting, business, or related field AND two (2) or more years of work experience related to accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal management; OR
-Accounting Certificate (12 months) AND three (3) or more years of work experience related to accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal management; OR
-Five (5) or more years of work experience related to accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal management.
