The Portland Art Museum invites applications for the position of Event Security Officer within our Events department. The Portland Art Museum’s mission is to engage diverse communities through art and film of enduring quality and to collect, preserve, and educate for the enrichment of present and future generations. Event Security Officers performs a critical role in the fulfillment of this mission by creating an exceptional visitor experience by maintaining an engaging environment while ensuring the safety of visitors, staff and Museum property.
This position is customer service intensive with a “people first” mindset. Officers set a welcoming and friendly tone for events held at the Museum while implementing security policies and procedures related to the safety and protection of staff and visitors, the security of Museum facilities, as well as protection of art. This position is based on availability and event schedule, 5 hours per week, and the schedule varies depending on business needs. Shifts will include evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary. Compensation is budgeted at $14.00 per hour. This position is eligible for a variety of perks such as free Museum admission, Gift Shop discounts, and screenings at the NW Film Center.
