Perform necessary cleaning work in campus buildings and surrounding areas to prepare facilities for use by students, staff and community. Transfer and set up furniture and equipment. Ensure security of facilities.

Regular attendance.

Clean and sanitize restrooms.

Dust, wipe down and sanitize hard surfaces.

Dust mop and wet mop hard floor surfaces.

Vacuum and spot cleaning of carpet, rugs, and upholstery.

Desk cleaning and sanitizing.

Window cleaning: interior and exterior.

Light fixture cleaning.

White board cleaning.

Trash and recycle removal.

Replenish of supplies and cleaning tools.

Maintenance and care of custodial equipment.

Reporting of safety and emergency issues.

Check and answer emails

Protection and preservation of College property.

Maintain cooperative working relationship with College staff, other organizations, and the public.

Follow all safety rules and procedures for work areas.

Cleaning Areas: Classrooms, office areas, restrooms, custodial closets, elevators, stairwells, hallways and entry areas, conference and meeting areas, and athletic facilities

Carpet and furniture cleaning.

Strip, wax, and recoating of hard floor surfaces.

Furniture and equipment removal and set ups.

Replacement of clock batteries.

Provide assistance to other college personnel as workload and staffing levels dictate.

Maintain proficiency by attending training and meetings, reading materials, and meeting with others in areas of responsibility.

Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner.

Knowledge of general cleaning principles and practices, use of chemicals, and safe operation practices of related equipment. Equivalent to high school education and one year of related experience, or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.

Valid driver's license in the State of Oregon

Previous training in hazardous spill procedures. Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets. Hard floor care, i.e. stripping/recoating floors, and carpet cleaning.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, communicate, reach and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility. Many duties are physically demanding requiring moving materials weighing up to 100 pounds. Movement of materials weighing up to 40 pounds may consume up to 25% of the work period. Activity and types of duties performed require manual dexterity and coordination.

Duties take place inside and outside of buildings with exposure to all weather conditions, dirt, oil, noise and chemicals.

Supervision of others is not a typical function assigned to this position. May provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel, and may assign work to student workers.

Works under the general supervision of a Team Leader and the Custodial Manager with administrative supervision from the Director, Campus Services.
