The Department: The Parks & Recreation Department is comprised of six divisions: Management Services, Recreation (Cultural, Sports, Outdoor, Golf, Luscher Farm and Special Events), Tennis, Parks and the Adult Community Center. The Department is responsible for the City’s extensive parks and recreational system which includes nearly 600 acres of community and neighborhood parks, natural areas and open spaces, pathways and trails, and recreational facilities. The Department has a total of 42 full and 14.3 part time employees.

Throughout the year the Department hosts an average of 1800 recreation programs and 70 community events. The Department works closely with volunteer advisory committees in establishing priorities for the parks system and in meeting community expectations. The Cultural Division programs over 250 activities each year and numerous adult, teen and children’s classes, programs and camps, including activities for special needs participants. Over 12,000 people participate in these programs each year.

The Position: The Recreation Supervisor II is responsible for planning, organizing and supervising all cultural, outdoor and specialized recreational programs for all ages and abilities.
