The City of Salem is recruiting for an Engineer IV position to manage the implementation of infrastructure master plans within the Development Services Section of the Public Works Department. Key functions of this position include: •Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that subdivision or site development projects are adequately served by City infrastructure consistent with adopted master plans.
•Provide leadership and technical expertise to Development Services staff regarding public works infrastructure requirements for development projects.
•Prepare technical documents and correspondence for various agencies, Planning Commission, and City Council.
•Create written findings for land use and construction permit applications.
•Act as project manager for large projects; coordinate and partner with other city staff or divisions or departments as needed.
The Development Services Section is charged with processing development and construction permit applications for the Public Works Department. Application types include but are not limited to pre-application conferences, land use actions, building permits, franchise utility permits, and public infrastructure permits. Our section coordinates programs within the Public Works Department by collaborating with numerous subject matter experts and stakeholders throughout the community. The ideal candidate is able to collaborate with a wide variety of customers and stakeholders while also having a strong working knowledge of public infrastructure in order to perform complex, technical analysis of development projects.

What are the minimum qualifications? •Must pass the pre-employment background check.
•Must have an Oregon driver's license and have a driving record that meets the City of Salem's driving standards.
•Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or a related field.
•Eight years of experience in a related field.
•Professional Civil Engineer License or ability to obtain a license within six months of beginning employment.
