TPD, like many agencies, is experiencing big change. One of the driving forces of that change is retirement, and with retirement comes new police officers - lots of them. Every new hiring process includes extensive background investigations and we need your help! If you have experience in law enforcement or conducting background investigations for a law enforcement agency and are looking for part-time, on-call work, this position is for you!
Examples of Duties:
•Conducts comprehensive background investigations on police officer candidates.
•Prepares written reports to present findings and recommendations.
•Travels to candidates' homes and former employers to conduct interviews and review documentation using personal transportation.
•Analyzes various court and consumer reports in consideration of factors related to employment.
•Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
•Experience as a law enforcement officer OR with a law enforcement agency conducting background investigations.
Licenses and Certifications:
Possession of a valid driver license and a satisfactory driving history.
Successful candidates must be able to attain a CJIS clearance and pass a comprehensive background investigation.
