The Facilities Division manages over 4 million square feet of City owned assets valued at over $500 million with an annual operating budget of over $14 million dollars. The Facilities Division includes Dispatchers, Maintenance Technicians, Utility Workers, Project Managers, Engineers, Operations Managers, all under the direction of the Facilities Services Division Manager.

Under the general direction of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, the Facilities Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance and repair of heating, cooling, ventilation systems, household appliances, and other building equipment such as lights, plumbing, electrical, and office furniture. Successful candidates must have experience with building heating systems to recognize operating conditions that may lead to breakdown or inefficient operation, as well as performing building maintenance tasks requiring a variety of mechanical skills. Familiarity with direct digital controls and building automation systems is highly desired. Work is performed in a variety of offices and public settings with a focus on customer service. Work must be performed in safe manner, following all applicable OSHA regulations. The Facilities Maintenance Technician functions as a technical expert, providing troubleshooting for maintenance issues and works collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to assess, identify, plan, and fulfill maintenance activities.
