Vehicle Integration Leader - Emerging Market Platform

Our product development organization has recently reorganized itself to strengthen our ability to implement design solutions for the Emerging Markets. We are looking for a dynamic and highly driven manager level candidate to lead Emerging Market design requirements and outcomes for Class 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7 products ranging from 1-52 tons.

The role of a Vehicle Integration Leader (VIL) leads engineering function of the assigned platforms with a primary responsibility for converting Customer requirements to actual measures and engineering truck level attributes such as performance, productivity, reliability, durability, operator ergonomics, noise and vibration, operating cost, product cost, and serviceability to achieve market differentiated customer solutions.

Key Accountabilities include:


Collaborate with global solutions and marketing groups to translate customer requirements inputs into engineering based project requirements.
Lead a China based team of Truck and Packaging Engineers who will be responsible to:
Define truck attributes and set targets to achieve project requirements.
Formulate truck level requirements from internal/external inputs, and cascade them to systems/components.
Develop truck level FMEAs, DVP&Rs and Reliability Growth Plans to validate truck requirements.
Lead the package integration of systems within the truck, addressing system interactions and tradeoffs.
Lead truck test validation of requirements and documentation (PSM, VDI, S&PI, Test Reports, etc.)
Conduct product signoff for production.
Deliver inputs for PLSG and project management of new development programs
Benchmark competition and develop quantitative SWOT for identifying gaps and opportunities.
Attribute measurement and trending for the platform products and competition to achieve PALS.
Apply lessons learned from current production customer problems for continuous improvement of quality, cost, and product attributes.

The ideal candidate will have:

BS Degree in Engineering
Minimum 10 years of experience in Engineering, with 5 years of leadership experience
Knowledge/skill in vehicle/automotive technology
Innovative thinking, troubleshooting and problem solving.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Mandarin a strong plus.
Attention to Quality: Follow established procedures and be attentive to details to ensure accuracy in design, testing and documentation.
Decision Making: Exhibit good judgment and a realistic understanding of issues; demonstrate ability to take decisive actions to develop product.
Systematic Problem solving: Demonstrate ability to apply basic principles and methods to resolve product issues.

Global work and/or travel experience.
Possession or ability to obtain a Passport and China Visa;
Willingness, desire, and strong ability to work with and periodically at our Fuyang China based HYM facility and China based team
