About the Position
Setup and assist with a subset of the teaching labs for Biology and Molecular Biology/Biochemistry labs (BIO312, BIO361, BIO200 and CHEM336). Help ensure students' compliance with laboratory safety requirements. Provide students with technical instructional on equipment related to ongoing student lab research projects. Order lab supplies; organize and maintain lab materials. Provide support for ongoing student independent projects.
This position is union-represented by the Lewis & Clark College Support Staff Association (LCCSSA).
What You'll Do
Assist in setting up and developing a subset of the teaching labs for Biology and Biochemistry
Provide students with technical instructional assistance on equipment related to ongoing student lab research projects
Order lab supplies; organize, maintain and inventory lab materials for biology, biochemistry and molecular biology lab courses
Help ensure students' compliance with laboratory safety requirements
Provide support for ongoing student projects
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
Two years laboratory experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, or cell biology
Ability to honor and work with all identities and individuals, particularly those who are underrepresented in the country and/or at Lewis & Clark.
Nice to Haves
Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry or molecular biology
Four years laboratory experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, or cell biology in an academic setting
20.25 hours per week
