The Lewis & Clark College Department of World Languages and Literatures invites applications for a full-time instructor position in Arabic beginning fall 2020. M.A. required at the time of appointment. Native or near-native fluency in Modern Standard Arabic, along with experience teaching introductory Arabic. Usual load is five to six courses per academic year and includes participation in our Middle East and North African (MENA) minor. Teaching duties include first and second year Arabic, as well as advising. Administrative duties include overseeing of Arabic section, as well as coordination of classes and curriculum.
A complete application must include (1) a curriculum vitae; (2) a letter of application which includes a statement of educational philosophy, teaching experience, and (3) two letters of recommendation. Preliminary interviews will be conducted via Zoom. Review of candidates will begin 2/15/2020, and continue until the position is filled.
