The Risk Manager is a company-wide, shared resource responsible for administrating contract and compliance activities directly with practice groups as to specific projects, as well as providing corporate organization support to Ankrom Moisan Architects, Inc. (AMA) Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this individual will lead by example with a proactive approach that touches every department and tackles a wide variety of tasks. By supporting office management, project management, and administrative coordination, this motivated professional plays a key organizational role.



Functional Duties:
• Prepare, review, edit and negotiate design contracts, proposals, nondisclosure agreements, owner/architect and consultant agreements
• Manage contract flow process between internal and external partners
• Manage the administration of the day-to-day legal issues
• Manage and negotiate corporate insurance and communicate with insurance brokers and insurers as it relates to potential project claims
• Refine and administer AMA’s compliance with jurisdiction requirements (international, federal, state, regional, and municipal), with respect to corporate registrations and professional registrations (e.g., architecture, project management)
• Review external contracts at the marketing stage as part of the company’s evaluation of new projects and Requests for Proposals or Request for Qualifications
• Support the practice group with compliance and contract-specific documentation, as well as reporting requirements
• Assist in managing litigation and claims, both for and against the company
• Proactively be involved in project reviews with project managers to help keep projects functioning at their highest potential 
• Assist the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with all corporate functions and documentation, such as managing the company shareholder program and its administrative requirements.
• Assist Human Resources with ongoing compliance, policy maintenance and review, as well as claim-specific support
• Review and support in the negotiation of AMA’s office leases.



Interpersonal Relationships:
• Direct supervisor will be the CFO
• Ongoing and consistent communication regarding the Risk Management Department with the CFO is always expected
• This position will interact with company employees, external partners, and clients
• This position is expected to participate in the sharing of expert knowledge and as a vital member of the organization
• Exceptional relationship-building skills to deal effectively with individuals at all levels of responsibility and authority
• Willing and positive collaboration with all team members, external and internal customers, supervisor and all others expected

• 5-7 years of experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts
• Strong organizational skills, ability to focus and follow through
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing routine work and project responsibilities to ensure deadlines are met
• Ability to work independently; exercise good judgment, time management, initiative, and self- motivation
• Advanced knowledge of Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Experience with Deltek software (timesheet/expenses/project reports/project planning) preferred; otherwise, demonstrated ability to learn new software applications
• Ability to multi-task while paying close attention to the details • Problem solver and self-starter with sharp logic and strong analytical skills
• Legal background strongly preferred
