After nearly 30 years in corporate telecom, I recently retired and, alongside my wife Joy, moved to Portland following a new professional opportunity for her. Portland immediately felt like a place where we could truly contribute—professionally, creatively, and through meaningful community engagement—as we build the next chapter of our lives rooted in purpose, connection, and service.
What I want from the community right now is the opportunity to build relationships and identify points of intersection where we can work together for the betterment of underserved and underrepresented communities. I’m interested in meaningful collaboration—spaces where art, conversation, mentorship, and shared purpose come together to create access, visibility, and tangible impact. When we align around common values and show up with intention, we can build pathways that uplift voices, strengthen community, and create lasting change.
I’m interested in civic connections that are rooted in relationship, trust, and shared responsibility. That includes partnering with local government, cultural organizations, nonprofits, and small businesses that are committed to equity, access, and community well-being. I’m especially drawn to connections that allow us to co-create programs and spaces that uplift underrepresented communities—whether through arts and culture, workforce development, mentorship, or community dialogue. My focus is on building long-term, values-aligned relationships that move beyond conversation into measurable, community-centered impact.
