Professional Resource Groups (PRGs)

Program Details

Our 2020 workforce retention study found that professionals of color often face challenges finding community and connection in the workplace. In response, Partners in Diversity created Professional Resource Groups—affinity spaces that bring people together to build relationships, discuss relevant issues, and learn from one other.

Each PRG centers the lived experiences of a specific community while supporting professional growth and belonging.

Our Professional Resource Groups are:

  • Asian and Pacific Islander
  • Black
  • Latino
  • Native American

What will I gain?

Participants gain deeper understanding of issues affecting their communities, expand their professional networks, and engage in programming that supports both personal and professional development.

Previous topics and experiences include:

  • Creating supportive spaces
  • Mental health and well-being
  • Networking and social connection
  • Resilient voices: Empowering women of color
  • Personal branding and self-promotion
  • Tickets to events (sports, arts, comedy, and cultural events)

Who should attend?

PRGs are open to any professionals who identify within the community each group represents. Participants may join more than on PRGs if they identify with multiple communities. PRGs are community-based and open beyond member organizations, though organizational membership is encouraged to support this work.

Co-Chairs

Each PRG has two co-chairs who are community leaders that volunteer their time to help plan and execute PRG events.

API PRG: Elaine Hsieh and Phil Chun

Black PRG: Evan Green and currently seeking volunteer to fill

Latino PRG – James Clift and Suzanne Flores Phillips

Native American PRG – Currently seeking volunteers to fill
