Breakfast for Champions | Building a Successful ERG

November 10, 2021 – Members learned how to build a successful employee resource group (ERG) at November’s Breakfast for Champions. Our speaker for the morning was Zanele Mutepfa-Rhone, cultural and diversity strategist, activist, philanthropist, Portland State University graduate, and founder of Here to Stay, a woman’s speaker series celebrating the stories of change-making women in the world. Mutepfa-Rhone led participants through a two-hour interactive workshop designed to inform current and future employee resource group (ERG) members, supporters and sponsors on the critical components of building a successful ERG.

This interactive workshop provided informative insights on the ERG creation process, benefits of an ERG and the tools to operate an ERG successfully. Our participants brainstormed ideas on annual programming, while referring to case studies and frameworks, and learned how to use ERGs to help recruit, retain, and develop diverse talent, while functioning as a vital resource to the organization.

Breakfast of Champions is an event for Partners in Diversity members only. If you would like to become a member, please contact us or visit our membership page for more information.
