Date: November 17, 2021

Start Time: 7:30 pm

End Time: 9:30 pm

Location: Portland Playhouse

Address: 602 NE Prescott St. Portland, OR 97211

This season, The Portland Playhouse is dedicating performances during every production to patrons who are Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color (BIPOC). This is to build off of our anti-racism work that started over 7 years ago with Homegirl Consulting, Keela Johnson and Confrontation Theatre, to help us identify the needs of the King Neighborhood. As well as the We See You White American Theatre demands recognition and acknowledgement of the exclusion, exploitation, and misrepresentation of Latinx, Asian, Middle Eastern and all People of Color.

On these evenings, we invite people who identify as such to come to the Playhouse and be in a space that centers the experience of a person from the Global Majority in our theatre which, like much of American theatre, has been mostly occupied by white people. These performances are also open to multi-racial family members and partners, including those who are white. Tickets for these performances are Choose Your Own Ticket Price, starting at $0. For our production of Barbecue our last BIPOC Affinity performance is on November 17.
