A Free Vipassana meditation course specifically for members of the Black community is being offered from Sept 14-25 at the Northwest Vipassana Center in southwest Washington. All may apply (Enrollment Opens: May 15, 2022); priority will be given to new and returning Black students. Vipassana, which means to see things as they really are, is an ancient technique of meditation. During the ten-day residential course, students follow a code of discipline, learn the basics of the method, and practice sufficiently to experience its beneficial results. Meditation instructions and an evening talk are given each day. Onsite assistant teachers help guide and support students throughout the course.

Vipassana is a simple, practical way to achieve inner peace of mind and lead a happy life. It purifies the mind, freeing it from suffering and the deep- seated causes of suffering.
