I moved to Portland to start a new role at a firm with an office in downtown. I was drawn to the city’s natural environment, its proximity to trails and open, fresh air, as well as its relatively strong public transportation (by U.S. standards) and its laid-back atmosphere. I also appreciated the quirky and unique restaurants, local shops and the emphasis on "brand Portland" - a sense of pride for all things Portland and Oregon grown and made.
n a community, I’m looking for shared perspectives. Much of what I’ve learned about myself and how I experience the world has come through exposure to diverse viewpoints. I hope to connect with people from all walks of life who have followed their own paths and can share their stories, allowing me to see the world through others’ eyes and deepen my sense of empathy. I’m also looking for a sense of belonging...feeling part of something greater than myself, and knowing there are people nearby who share a curiosity about one another. I value being around interesting individuals who are genuinely interested in learning about each other and growing together.
I’m interested in building connections with people who have walked similar paths and can offer guidance, as mentorship is something I deeply value. I’m also eager to learn more about volunteer opportunities in education, particularly those supporting young adolescents from underserved communities as they approach college. In addition, I’d like to connect with communities centered around thrift shopping, secondhand and sustainable fashion, and broader sustainability efforts.
