I moved to Portland because my spouse Jaime Contreras got accepted to MD/PHD program in OHSU.
Since my spouse and I moved to Oregon without family or friends, we’ve been finding our footing and adjusting to this new chapter. I’m really hoping to build meaningful friendships and feel inspired to grow and thrive alongside others in this community.
I’m really interested in building connections that reflect the mission of Partners in Diversity, especially by bringing people of color together in meaningful ways. Creating spaces where people feel safe, supported, and seen is important to me, and I want to help foster relationships where we can learn from each other and grow together. I’m also passionate about mentoring and getting involved in school-based programs, because I value being able to support and guide younger students as they find their path. For me, it’s about helping build a community where people genuinely feel they belong and have the opportunity to thrive.
