It’s always tough to see a great teammate leave, but today we’re celebrating more than we’re saying goodbye. Joanna Harrison is off to explore a new adventure. While we’ll definitely miss her presence, we know this isn’t goodbye—it’s just “see you later.” From Say Hey!s to NW Equity Summit, to simply being an all-around awesome person to work with, Joanna has left a lasting impact here. I’m incredibly grateful for the time I spent working with Partners in Diversity. It was a meaningful chapter in my journey. Being part of an organization that is dedicated to supporting professionals of color in Oregon and SW Washington was both inspiring and affirming.
During my time with the team, I had the opportunity to contribute to events, connect with local leaders, and witness the impact of creating spaces where professionals of color feel seen, valued, and supported. I was constantly surrounded by people doing intentional, heart-centered work, and that left a lasting impression on me.
After some deep reflection and life events, I am returning to school full-time to finish my degree in Psychology. A decision rooted in my commitment to healing, growth, and community care. My experience at Partners in Diversity reminded me of the power of representation, connection, and purpose-driven work. It gave me the courage to keep building a life that aligns with my values.
I’ll always carry with me the warmth, support, and inspiration I found here. Thank you to Jenny and the entire team at Partners in Diversity for allowing me to be part of something so impactful! It will always hold a special place in my heart.
