This month we would like to highlight Scott Kleiner and Wieden + Kennedy. We are excited to welcome Scott Kleiner as our new Leadership Council chair. Scott has been a dedicated champion of our mission, and we look forward to his leadership as we continue building workplaces where professionals of color can thrive and contribute to our region’s economic prosperity. I’m honored to serve on the Leadership Council and to carry forward the longstanding partnership between Partners in Diversity and Wieden+Kennedy.
One moment that has stayed with me: being invited to hear Dan Wieden speak at the Portland Art Museum during Partners in Diversity’s 10th Anniversary. I wasn’t aware that W+K was one of the earliest members of PiD and that Dan was so involved from early on. Throughout my tenure at W+K, Dan was outspoken about creativity, equity, and community — opening doors for equity programs within the agency and building meaningful ties to Portland at large. That speech left a mark on me.
It also moved me to act. With W+K leadership creating the time and space to get involved, I volunteered with Partners in Diversity and became a buddy at a Say Hey! event hosted right at W+K. That experience made the partnership feel real and personal. I look forward to building on what W+K has invested in this relationship — and to doing my part to ensure that commitment grows stronger.
