This month, we connected with Xenium HR, a company whose mission is to transform workplaces through custom HR support, payroll and benefits administration, and learning and development programs for small and mid-sized businesses. Xenium is dedicated to bringing diverse people together and promoting a culture where everyone feels valued and included.
What steps is Xenium taking to build a more equitable and inclusive workplace?
At Xenium, when we say, “It’s about people,” we mean ALL people. We believe that fostering meaningful relationships at every level and relentlessly pushing for equity helps organizations thrive. Our approach starts within our walls by cultivating a culture rooted in listening, vulnerability, and continuous learning. We offer training on unconscious bias and constructive feedback, host company-wide conversations on the experiences of underrepresented communities, and prioritize authenticity and open communication in everything we do. We might not get it perfect every time, but each conversation is a stepping stone for growth.
How has Xenium embedded EDI into its company culture and practices?
One of Xenium’s six core values is Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. To fully live this value, we created an Equity Team that drives change through three focused subcommittees: “Invest in Our People,” “Look Beyond Our Four Walls,” and “Cultural Belonging and Career Support.” Each group takes on specific, actionable initiatives central to our mission.
How does Xenium ensure it is making an impact beyond its own organization?
Equity starts with action, and for us, that means not just talking about change but living it every day. We’re committed to partnering with clients, vendors, and community groups that share our values. Our work goes beyond our own four walls—we actively engage with underrepresented communities, support EDI efforts through service and advocacy, and work to give everyone a seat at the table. This commitment extends into everything we do, from the relationships we build to our company choices.
What’s next for Xenium in its EDI journey?
At Xenium, we recognize that EDI work is never done. We haven’t “arrived,” and we know that real change requires ongoing commitment. We’re constantly evolving, learning, and adapting. As we continue this journey, our focus remains on expanding our efforts—deepening our community relationships, refining our internal practices, and ensuring that our work reflects our values. We see each step forward as part of a larger transformation, both within our organization and the broader communities we serve.
