Social Purpose Works is the latest innovative program offering of Metropolitan Family Service (MFS), a Portland Oregon social service agency since 1950. MFS Social Purpose Works recruits pro bono (volunteer) professionals for nonprofit project-based opportunities in Oregon and SW Washington. Social Purpose Works is recruiting for a Business Development/Market Research expert to help The Women’s Center for Leadership (WCL). WCL’s mission is to fill-the-pipeline with confident and competent female-identifying leaders to further a community committed to inclusion and equity in the workplace. They do this by advancing leadership skills with accessible, thought-provoking educational programming. WCL’s strength has been affordable, in-person programming that builds leadership skills and a strong sense of community for attendees. Their revenue streams include corporate sponsorships (financial and in-kind), memberships and individual donations. Their primary revenue stream is fees generated through programming. Although WCL quickly pivoted to online learning due to COVID, several factors (Zoom fatigue, free online training options, fewer sponsorships, etc.) prevented them from meeting prior levels of revenue and attendance.
