I decided to move to Portland after graduating from San Diego State University in 2025. I wanted to be closer to family and live in a new city where I can establish new connections and experience new opportunities. I was drawn to Portland due to its collective desire to do better for the community. I would be honored to take part in such efforts.
One thing that I need from the community right now is education on the Portland area. I've visited many times over the past several years, but Portland is not my hometown. I would love to learn how to love the city the way a local would. I think this would better prepare me for the work I want to do in the community.
I am looking for connections that align with my values in social justice and public policy. I hope to get involved in organizations concerned with racial equity, gender justice, and LGBTQ+ rights. I'm eager to engage with local political networks to stay informed on local decision-making. Any connection that can get me involved in community building would be beneficial to me.
